A gourmet tour visiting some of Cyprus most beautiful villages, traditional workshops of forgotten customs and skills and a chance to taste some of the unique delicacies Cypriot cuisine has to offer.
We begin our journey with a stop at the charming village of Lefkara; Known as the da Vinci village. Demonstration of the world famous lace and embroidery will be given along with a refreshment or Cyprus coffee.
Driving through the valleys of vineyards, orange orchards and fields of almond trees, we reach the village of AGROS. Agros is the main village of the Pitsilia Valley, with its dry climate and cooling springs. Here we visit a number of places where you can see and taste some of the Cyprus products. A rose factory demonstration of how the rose oil and essence is extracted and the by-products acquired from these. Experience a 'smoker' chamber where ham is smoked and cured and cyprus homemade sausages are made. As part of this journey, you will find a traditional Zivania distillery - sample some Zivania aswell as do some wine tasting.
We then enjoy a scrumptious Cyprus Meze Lunch (included in the price) with over ten different foods to try.
We then visit one of the best 'spoon sweet' makers on the Island. Here you will learn the history behind these spoon sweets, how they are made and the many variety of fruits and vegetables they use. Again you will be given the opportunity to sample these sweets to see what all the fuss is about.
Our last stop is at the village of Palechiori (13th century). Here you will be given some free time to visit the churches with beautiful frescoes, and a barn church protected by Unesco. Visit the Byzantine museum, shop for that perfect souvenir strolling through the little streets or simply sit back in the village square and enjoy a refreshment before heading back through Nicosia region.
