This tour is a must for everybody. We begin our tour driving via Nicosia and begin the climb to the Troodos mountains with a short stop for coffee along the way. We then proceed to the Kykkos Monastery, founded by the Byzantines in 1092. Kykkos is renowned for its wealth and features gold icons, preserved frescoes and bright mosaics. The monastery is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and also possesses one of the three surviving icons ascribed to Saint Luke. The miraculous icon, which is covered in silver gilt and enclosed in a shrine of tortoise shell and mother-of-pearl, holds an eminent position in the church.
We then pass through Platres and arrive at the village of Pedoulas where you can enjoy lunch if you wish overlooking the village. (lunch is optional and is not included in the price). Our next stop is at a traditional vineyard for some wine tasting. We then make our way to paphos harbour. Here you will be given free time to explore the harbour, visit the ancient castle, the archaeological park with its exclusive mosaics or just sit back and enjoy a coffee while you take in the scenery. The entire city is a UNESCO world heritage site.
We then head back, stopping at the Aphrodite's Rock; the legendary birthplace of the Goddess Aphrodite (Petra tou Romeou) where we enjoy a relaxing swim. Our journey home then ends with a coffee or refreshments 'stop' along the way.
