Taking its name from the goddess of love, this coastal walking trail spans along the Akamas peninsula and offers sweeping views of Chrysochou Bay. On your 2.5-hour trek, you’ll encounter the famous Baths of Aphrodite, far-reaching views of surrounding meadows, and the remains of a medieval monastery. The paths are also fringed with different types of Mediterranean trees and shrubs, including carob, olive, and eucalyptus.

At the very start of the Akamas peninsula, you’ll find the Avakas Gorge Nature Trail.
Since the trail is very rocky in places, and leads you through the 30-meter high limestone gorge, it can be challenging for inexperienced walkers - and proper hiking boots are recommended. However, it’s perfect for nature lovers, as you’ll come across species of fig, cypress and oak trees, as well as falcons, butterflies, and sometimes even fruit bats.
